KHAO YAI — no more a stranger to most as it became one of the top spots in Thailand over the recent years. Located 3 hours drive away from Bangkok, a scenic region covered with lush greenery and flower fields – a perfect place for getaway.

Places to visit in KHAO YAI on a 4D3N Trip
Common’ and embark with me on my journey to the most scenic region in Thailand.

How to get there

Plan your itinerary and book from TRAZY.
We were there in a group of 10, so we rented a van and hired a driver for the entire trip.

Where to stay

Tons of unique themed resorts or hotels in this mountainous region but we opted for Limon Villa – a lovely resort situated on a peaceful and blessed spot, where shrubs and flowers grow in haphazard abundance and hugged by steep mountains and hills climbing into a blue sky.

We got ourselves an entire home with 4 bedrooms for 8 pax – the Casa Mona (Family Villa Room) The Stylish Countryside Villa. And, an additional Superior Villa for two lovebirds.

Where to go / What to see / What to do

KHAO YAI is a place to best visit from December to January as that’s the peak time where all tourist sites are open. The downside to it is it will be super crowded but fear no more as many tour sites in KHAO YAI accepts advance bookings or reservations and only take in certain number of people for each period of time.

We were there in August and even though it was less crowded but still advance reservations are required. So remember to check their official page before you plan your trip there or else you will end up getting disappointed.

Farm Chok Chai

Farm Chok Chai is where you get to experience the farm life through fun-educational activities. A place where I highly recommend going to if you love nature and farm life. I must say this is one of the place I enjoyed most! Tour guided with fun-experience activities as you hop into a tractor that takes you around the farm looking at the process of making diary products, learning to milk a cow, visiting the ice-cream factory and have an ice-cream tasting session. Not only that but you will also get to watch cowboy show, pet show, riding an ATV or even a horse. Apart from those activities, you will also get to enjoy taking some insta-worthy pictures by posing in the center of the flower field.

A vineyard that sets on the mountainous site, 380 meters above sea level that gives you all the great pleasures that you need when you’re on a holiday. Keep the great pleasure going with some delicious Western-Thailand fusion food at The Great Hornbill Grill restaurant, overlooking the vast vineyard.

A Tuscan-themed shopping centre that is insta-worthy. What is best is NO entrance fee is collected and you can just spent hours capturing each and every sight with all your might just like what we did here.

The Chocolate Factory

A modern chocolate shop opened daily to exhibit how their chocolates are made with a cozy Italian restaurant and a retail space that sells freshly baked or made chocolates. Not to mention, if you come on a weekend, you could enroll in their workshops too. A place to drop by if you’re a chocolate lover.

Yellow Submarine Coffee Tank

A very unique semi-open air coffee shop that invites crowd during the weekends. A great place to chill and relax after one day of exciting yet tiring tour. It offers pleasant and soothing ambiance with its industrial architectural form and natural surroundings, alongside with delicious fancy beverages and desserts. Definitely a place to visit when you’re in Khao Yai!

Opening Hour:

Yellow Submarine Coffee Tank

The Birder’s Lodge Cafe & The Farmer’s Market

Another unique cafe that you don’t want to miss out when you’re in Khao Yai. It feels like a bird house but it fits the size of a human. We haven’t get the chance to stay here but heard it’s one of the top popular lodging place in Khao Yai. We only dropped by the cafe before we leave for Bangkok on our final day. At the same time, to drop by the Farmer’s Market which was so happen to be held on the first weekend of that month of September.

Opening Hour:
Daily 8:30 – 18:00

Pak Chong Night Market

A local night market that offers various local Thailand street food at a fairly cheap price. Do not expect the market to be a huge one like those you see in Bangkok. Just fairly good enough to get what you crave for from Sticky Mango rice, local fruits to Thai Economy Rice. Apart from food, of course there are vendors that sells clothing, phone accessories, plants and etc. too but once again let me remind you it’s not gonna be what you expect it to be.  I mean it’s not as attractive as those you see in Bangkok. Like I said, it’s a fairly good market you will find in this small town of Khao Yai.

Opening Hour:
Daily 17:00 – 22:00
